			<title>2010 National Champions!!!!!!</title>
			<link>http://www.bdpasmn.org/home/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=57</link>
<description>Congratulations!! I&amp;#39;m not sure where to even start. It is a proud day for members and volunteers of the Southern Minnesota BDPA Chapter! For the 4th straight year, our chapter&amp;#39;s national competition team took 1st place in the National BDPA High School Computer Science Competition. This is such an honor and it is well deserved for the hard work these students have put into preparing for the competition. James Arama, Kris-Ann Hines, Yaa Kwansa, Daniel Sheppard, and Adwait Walimbe are pictured below. Led by Zack Garbow, these students competed against 22 other BDPA teams from around the US. The competition included a written test, oral presentation, and an 8-hour coding competition. In 8 hours, these students built an interactive website from start to finish! A recent graduate of the YCTP (Youth Computer Technology Program), Ahmed Mahamad, also has reason to celebrate. Ahmed placed 3rd out of 16 presenters in the national competition&amp;#39;s IT Showcase. Ahmed is a Freshman attending the University of Minnesota Rochester, and aspires to become a doctor specializing in the area of Robotics, Informatics and Medicine. Ahmed&amp;#39;s presentation can be seen from the link below: http://bdpastudents.com/~ahmed/it/index.php Youth Computer Training Program (YCTP) teaches web programming techniques to students from 7th to 12th grade on Saturdays from December to May. This year about 70 students enrolled, and among these students, 15 attended the competition in Philadelphia, PA.Who knew that a small southern Minnesota chapter could make such an impact on a National level! We are so proud!</description>
